Thanks Eddie. Yep we had Dim Sum that morning. I wanted to try out E-Pan but it was too early and they only open at 11:45 so we went to your joint to have Dim Sum instead

E-Pan has changed owners I'm not sure if it is as good, my department at work used to go there for dinner but haven't since it changed hands

Yes you can. Thats the beauty of owning a Pentax. You do have to go in the menu and set "catch in focus" to "on" in the custom menu #25.

Be careful, if you do this then the shutter won't fire unless there is a subject in focus in the central AF point. It effectively disables the other AF points and the ability to focus outside the centre, so it's usefulness will depend on your shooting style.

agreed I only enable CIF when shooting in very low light (like at gigs) and even then leave it off and just use the confirm and recompose and rely on a split screen
