Testing out my girlfriend's new K-5 II. Lens used was of course the M50/1.7, shot wide open. Manual focusing without a dedicated screen is much easier than on the K-x/K-r series.

Have been lurking here a little while now.. Is there anyone who doesn't have a 50/1.7? Love it. I'm a bit time poor so tend to take a lot of photo's around my garden. The previous owner of my house has put in a lot of plants over the 35 years she lived here.. Strangely these only appeared for the first time a couple of years after we moved in.. anyone happen to know what they are called?

Cheers
Jarrod

The K5 models are certainly great cameras to work with..

The old saying goes "Bloom where your planted" Very nice photos, possibly a type of Gladiolus, but I am no expert by any means.

Yes, a gladiolus. Specifically, one of the thousands of cultivars of the primulina gladiolus strain. A beautiful variety this one.

You mustn't be too poor if you have a garden Anyway, here's a picture taken today with the M50/1.7.

A warm greeting to Spring, indeed.

M50/1.4, a still life I put together.

Hello all;
Here is my first post to the M club. Taken last fall with a 28mm 2.8. it was an 8sec exposure @ iso 100.
I just picked up a 50mm 1.7 at our local camera shop for $20. Looking forward to trying it out.
When I asked if they had any used Pentax mount lenses, I was told "Just some old manual stuff, not much of anything"

I recently got one of these myself. I don't think it gets a lot of love, undeservedly, so is relatively affordable.

Don't see a lot from this lens on here either. Bokeh looks nice, and very sharp subject.
