Superb, elpolodiablo! Way back, in my Navy days in the late 60's, we used to take a nylon stocking and stretch it over the front of the lens and stop it down to minimum aperture to create a great starburst effect. Have any of you tried that old technique? I'll have to give it a try soon. Sheez.... "late 60's." I'm OLD!
You might be getting there, but I used the nylon stocking trick in the EARLY 60's.

That's brilliant - especially given the rescue you mentioned; I really wouldn't have been able to tell.

My wife holding our daughter & son-in-law's little papillon dog "Ginger" at our 4 July celebration. This is taken with my newly-acquired and refurbished Pentax-M 35mm f2.8 lens, probably at f4, K100DS, ISO200.

I have to apologize! I posted the wrong image in this thread! The image of my wife with the dog was taken with my daughter's FA50f1.4 lens I borrowed for a couple of shots. Oops!

So, here is an image from the Pentax-M 35mm f2.8 -- my youngest granddaughter (on the right) eating watermelon with her friend on 4 July.

Pentax-M 35mm f2.8 @ f8, K100DS, ISO200

And here is one of Ginger the papillon with the same lens at f11, but with internal flash on the K100DS:

Papillions are very special dogs. Super intelligent, but rather high-strung. Very independent, too! Nice photo, kOog.

This 35mm delivers great skin tones and I find it easy to focus. Nice shot.

Pentax-M 28mm f/3.5 focus issue

I picked up a Pentax-M 28mm f/3.5 at a thrift store recently and after a little use discovered an intermittent issue. When focusing, I'll feel something shifting inside the lens and the image will shift. It feels like one of the element in the lens is dropping into place. I'm thinking about disassembling to see if anything seems obviously loose, but thought I'd see if anyone else has had this same issue.
