Quite. Having started to use primes again after a break of er, a couple of decades I'm amazed at what I've been missing out on.

Indeed. Having both FA43 and M50/1.7 I can say that order of magnitude (500 to 50 eur) difference in price is not justified. For hobbyist strolling around and taking their time to shoot, M glass is amazing value.

Some crazy bokeh from the M 35mm f/2. I think this was at f/2.8.

M400/5.6 on K10D at Pacific Rim National Park

Here is one photo taken with the M 400/5.6 during our September trailer trip to the West Coast of Vancouver Island, Canada. The weather lived up (down?) to the family's description "The WET Coast" most of the time. We had a couple of hours of sun (see the birds below) but most of the time it was fog and drizzle. These are the last occasion I used the 400 on the K10D. I have just upgraded to the K3, and the K10 gave me most of the price of the D-BG5 grip. If you click on the link below the photo, there are five images.

Remain very impressed with what something as simple and cheap as a SMC-M 50mm F1.7 can do.

There was a great sunrise this morning but I could only capture it from my office window and didn't manage to get the colours as they really were.

M 35mm f/2 at f/8 on Fuji X-M1.

Really impressed to see that the Pentax Forum's review of the K-3II features the camera with a M 50/1.4 on the first page. Not the usual Limited lens.

Very cool and a very appropriate hat-tip to all of us who enjoy using M-series and other MF lenses on our K-3s etc. So here is a photo from this month by my K-3 and M 50/1.4:

Jonathan--what a great landscape! I'd be very interested in your experience with that lens stopped down a bit--it's not quite the legend that the K85/1.8 is (much less the A* version)--but I seem to remember Utak's approbation. Since I shoot more trees and rocks than supermodels, I can live without exquisite bokeh if the lens is sharp at infinity and reasonably well-behaved, fringing-wise.
