Had a long week end in Italy at Lago d'Iseo where Franciacorta wine area is located. Lovely scenery, warm, sunny, Italian cuisine and sparkling wines just as good as Champagne. Now I'm drowning with photos. So for awhile my posts have a fixed theme. Here are the best flower shots from the trip.

Here are a few 50-M shots for you with the K-1 field of view--taken unfortunately in the blazing midday sun but some still of passable quality. K-1 gives a whole new perspective on lots of lenses, especially the 31/43/77 trio.

Here are a few 50-M shots for you with the K-1 field of view--taken unfortunately in the blazing midday sun but some still of passable quality. K-1 gives a whole new perspective on lots of lenses, especially the 31/43/77 trio.

Thanks. With K-30 I often find M50 bit too tight for the compose I had in mind and I have to be satisfied with M28. Nothing bad to say about M28, but I like M50 more.
I don't know if, in reality, I can ever justify the expense of K-1 or any of the trio to myself, but it definitely would be nice to own them.

There's a lovely enoteca (wine bar) build to an old little railway station with a stunning view to the delta of the Lago d'Iseo. as far as I know, the best place & way to enjoy the scenery. 5 shot pano with M50/1.7:

I definitely got wood to split, but I don't split it. Lady I give it too brings over her motorized splitter and splits and splits and hauls away. That is all iron wood (Bois d'Arc), and hard to split. ivan

Swan in Porto Vecchio (old harbor). Lovely place. Really like how the colors of the surroundings reflect from the surface. Should have taken other pictures, but M*300 was too long, company too good and gelato way too tasty for lens changes. M*300/4:

Arena di Verona. Roman amphitheater build in AD 30. Nowadays used by local opera. Even 200 years old buildings are rare in Finland, so it's astonishing to walk on a usable 2K old building. M50/1.7:

M50/1.4 at f2 on the K-m. The sensor on that little camera and this lens really combine to bring out warmth, even on the very grey morning we've had today.

Shortly after the last picture my M28 tried to commit suicide by jumping out of my bag to the pavement (Is that right word even when it's made out of stones?), but my brand new Hoya CPL sacrificed itself instead and took the worst of the landing. Very unnerving feeling to watch lens fall and roll on the ground.

Luckily lens still seam to work well and the glasses on CPL survived intact. Got stuck together, but managed to retain some of the movement when I straightened the dent back at home.
