So what do you get when you combine a K10D (CCD colors) with an M 28 3.5 (crazy colors) and a Hoya Polarizer filter? Some pretty bold colors even out at noon time







The M 28 3.5 is not a bokeh lens by any means... but if the background is far away it can still work...

Colors, clarity, and rendering from the M50/1.7 make lots of more expensive lenses redundant. It is always a pleasure to look at a shot on the back screen and know you have a keeper with no post (except cropping) just like these three. Bench is lightly cropped, and the flowers and pond shot are heavily cropped--M50 lets you do that!

Thank you. However, after posting, I thought I should have brightened it up a bit in post. That flower is Ville de Lyon, one of my favorite clematis flowering vine.

On the north end of the canyon is a small city, Ceraino. Well, nothing really extraordinary there. View to the castle on the other side of Adige was the most interesting thing and mirror selfie made it more fun. M50/1.7:

On our way to Italy we had over 3 hours more time than expected on the airport. Spent some of the time in playing with my K-30. Last fall, when I was buying M50/1.7, my first manual lens, the first things I noticed when taking few test shots in camera store, were the beautiful bokeh, great 3D feeling and very relaxed and easy overall picture rendering.

I understand. It's THE STAR in M series and I adore it. Ivanvernon was 100% right in his comment when I told I had ordered it. Technically it's a birthday gift from my wife and I love her for it. I only wonder why there isn't more fuss about it on the forum.

And thanks for the compliment. I try to keep it simple. I have noticed that I mostly shoot with F8 and practically never wide open. I try to keep ISO as low as possible. I'm not happy with results above ISO800 on my K30, so I don't shoot above it. When hand held I try to keep shutter speed fast. On shorter focal lengths 1/125 or faster produce good results. With M*300 I try to avoid going under 1/500, because success rate drops below that Shooting short bursts help. Below 1/180 there's just no point to even try.
But I think that a lot of the current results go for the Capture One I bought couple of months ago. I'm still learning it, but it can do wonders to the shots. The middle one from previous post was shot to back light without the flash. I did spend some time adjusting the light and color levels around the picture and made four versions of it until I was satisfied. Programs ability to pull shadows is incredible.

Windsurfing yesterday. Forecasts promised more wind than weather delivered, but at least something to get the board to plane from time to time. Also managed to take some shots after I had finished before the wind died down. All shots M*300/4 at ISO400, f5.6, 1/2000, catch in focus and camera set to high burst:

Lovely smooth bokeh.

I think I have mentioned before, but I really like the soft creamy way M series lenses draw bokeh. Very easy on my eyes. Many lenses draw bokeh so that my eyes try to focus on it, but naturally can't get it right. Makes it hard to look at those pictures.
