First shots with K-5

Takes a little time to get used to K5's different button layout, but camera feels already good in my hands. Also need to figure out how to handle two cameras while shooting. I'm not used to this

Latest Addition - Pentax SMC-M 75-150 f4

I seem of late to have built up a bit of a collection of Pentax lenses of this era. Although I have 28/35/50/135/200 I also rather like some of the zooms in both SMC-M and A series.

My most recent eBay raid is the extortionately priced SMC-M 75-150mm which cost me all of $29 from a Goodwill auction. I was hoping to get it for the opening bid of $9.99 but some sharks zoomed in and bid it up to the heady price I paid. The lens is in what appears to be as new condition (with the addition of some inevitable dust) with the metalwork and paintwork pristine. No marks or blemishes at all on the glass.

It has all the qualities in terms of construction and handling that you'd expect from this series. One of the reasons I like them so much.

Just a quick shot but it augers well and should make a nice companion for a 35-70 A series zoom which I really like for it's sheer compactness.

You can never go wrong with any vintage K, M or A series Pentax lens.
I am not a huge fan of zooms but I looove Ms and Ks so I know that I will finally end up with some of them in my hands.

Haven't had time to post lately. I've been out shooting a lot and it's has taken some time to go thru all the pictures. I grow up in a very small village by the river. Since my parents don't live there anymore I haven't visited there for years. The dam is going to be rebuild and it's location will chance a little, so I went to shoot it while it's still in familiar format.

I lived behind the fields, but used to swim and fish a lot in this waters. K5 M28/3.5 5 shots panorama:

Old farm by the rapids. K5 M28/3.5:

Current dam which was build 30 years ago. On the left side of the picture waters are flowing over the edge of a side stream which lead to the mill ruins. On the right side used to be log drive channel, but it was taken down the last time the dam was rebuild. Current plans will probably lower water level on the side stream and the beautiful overflow will disappear. K30 M50/1.7:

Farm house and the rapids from a different angle. K5 M28/3.5 5 shots panorama. For some reason this was really hard to stitch. Would have loved to own M20/4 to take this in a single shot:

One more from the other side. K30 M50/1.7:
