And I liked especially the first shot with leafs.
Thanks! That's a very nice series of night shots, too.

Thanks. M28/2.8 seem to have quite nice starburst. Went thru my shots with M28/3.5 and in those the star shape seem to brake up. But those shots are almost a year ago, so need to try it again. Will be interesting to put those thru their month in SIC.

Wanted to try snowflakes with M100/4 macro. Boost it up with a set of extension tubes. Forms quite a long lens when focused close

At f4 the DOF is ...err... minimal?

At f11 you can already fit a snowflake in it.

Non-existent? Nice work.

That might be more accurate word.

Thanks,

Florenze shot looks familiar. Taken from Piazzale Michelangelo? Way better than mine, which was taken with cheap Nikon 10 years ago. Love that lens. It's too good to standard flickr size. All that lovely detail is begging for larger format to show off what it really is made of.

Yes, that's where it was taken from.I'm finding that the 120mm is a good focal length for a telephoto to take on trips - long but not too long. It's also very compact and sharp. For a lens the same weight as the 50-200 DA zoom, I'll take it's image quality over the ability to zoom.

My thoughts exactly. I love my M*300, but wont carry it onto trips unless I know I will need the reach. For general photography 120 is long enough and I believe it's the best M prime between 100 and 200mm. On my previous trip to Crete I had M35/2, M50/1.7, M85/2 and M120/2.8. Compact enough to fit my small camera bag and no bother to carry with great IQ. It will be my travel set also in the future, but 50 might chance to 1.4 at some point (need to get it and test it to know) and I now have non-M 21 to shoot wide.

OK, I'm thru my January Single In Challenge with M50/1.7. My full album if somebody is interested. Great versatile lens:

I think the M 50 1.7 is definitely one of those lenses where the general usefulness and image quality, et cetera is improved over it's faster, heavier f 1.4 sibling. While I have enjoyed using my M 50 1.4 for certain shots, there's some real caveats to using it and getting good results. You've shared some great pictures taken with your f 1.7.

Thanks. Yes, I have understood that there's no clear winner between 1.4 and 1.7, but I haven't had chance to test 1.4 yet. I will see when I get it and shoot a month with it.
