I haven't posted here for a while. I've limited my time on the internet while on summer holiday. Weather has been too good to sit by the computer. We are having the hottest summer in decade. One must be out there and enjoy when it's finally possible. Thought I have also taken some rest from shooting and mostly shot with my single in lens only, I have managed to produce a punch of photos waiting to be edited. I hope I have some time for them now that I'm back at work

I spent couple of weeks on our family's summer place. These are from one beautiful morning as my parents were returning from checking the fishnets.
Those are really nice. That looks like a very attractive place. On the West coast of British Columbia, my uncle Ed Warnock used to live year round on a slough (dead end creek type of place -- a fjord with no mountains) and it was similar in feeling. He, and my father, were commercial fishermen. Uncle Ed's boat when I was still living at home was the Varholm.

Thanks, it's a beautiful place. My parents live there year round these days.

More mirror surface with M40. This time from the next village:

I really like the first image in this post, Ismo. It gives me a true impression of the place.

Thanks. There's power plant behind my back. You can see the motion of the water in mirror surface on first shot.

M40/2.8 in July Single In Challenge

I was a bit distracted by summer this month. There were days I shot a lot, but often didn't really have a time or inspiration to shoot and just took something quickly. Even my monthly wrap up came out short, thought this lens would have deserved more

There is something special in M40 when compared to other M's. It's not the sharpest of the series, but I really like the way it renders and focal lenght is good on crop body. The small size is fun, thought it limits minimum focus distance. I have noticed that it's a good lens to travel with when you want go light and take only one lens. One of the keepers in my collection of M's.

iheiro, your shots with the M 40 are making me reconsider getting an M 35 f2.8. My only real concern is going to be trying to focus the M 40 with motorcycle gloves on. Using the "f8 and be there" concept, I probably shouldn't worry too much, and just use the thing like its focus ring is stuck most of the time.

I use the same hood for a few of my old lenses, particularly the 15mm 3.5

Nice work as usual I think you're getting the best out of these M-series!
