M 28/2.8 - great lens for astro and nightscapes as it is usable at f 2.8.

I do not used my M 50/1.7 since ages, because I have also A50/1.7. But I liked it anyway - it was my first Pentax prime lens some 25 years ago...

Do you find much image quality difference between the A and M? There should be little, if any, but... I also realize that if you have bodies that support the "A" function, the A version would be appealing enough to stop using the M.

No difference in image quality at all, even if fron part of the "M" was really wobbly. But yes "A-setting" is worth every penny of the price difference.

Looks great! Seems great lens/camera combo also. Below one photo from one of my favorite M's - M 100/4 Macro.

Well, I figured I'd start to share some photos that I like, but don't really consider to be technical "winners". This one was a shot in the park with the M 75-150 f/4, which I don't use often enough but is quite the decent performer. I don't consider this shot to be amazing in any way, but I kept it because I found it funny to see two squirrels embroiled in an intense fight to the death in the middle of a quiet, peaceful park. The contrast of the cute, noise-less struggle with the high personal stakes for each of these creatures made for quite an absurd scene. I picked this shot out of a bunch specifically because I got lucky by capturing the two in an almost Shakespearian dramatic pose. I couldn't help but imagine how frightening the scene may have been had the squirrels been the size of lions.

Hi Startroop, that's a nice capture and the dramatic pose helps indeed. Thanks for sharing it.

I took this one with my 300 mm green star. We found this seal pup on the beach in north Denmark. It was picked up by some people from the local (Hirtshals) sea aquarium later that afternoon.

I've had a couple of copies of the A and found them to be sharper wide open that the M, but other than that no difference. The A setting is useful but the gritty, broken plastic feel of moving the aperture ring on the A make it unpleasant to use on a film camera, so I've sold both copies I've owned. I have three of the Ms - one for home, one in my parents'-in-law's house and one at my own folks' house - that way I know I will always have a good 50mm available wherever I am.

October Single In Challenge 2019 with K1ii & M100/4

I've been in a habit of posting a wrap up with the best shots after each Single In Challenge. Due to raffle I think I take a different approach and post my month here daily and write just the wrap up at the end of the month. So here we go:
