"K1ii*& M40:"
Did someone say the M40 was an inferior lens? This image is beautiful. Lucky you for being there in person.

M40 is oddball in M series. In lens tests 50's and 35's will certainly triumph over it, but it has it's own character that justify it's existence in between. And not just talking about the pancake design, but I really like how it renders with all its limitations.

It is nice lens - maybe not super sharp and contrasty, but I found it usable for nightscapes/starscapes (infinity photos) wide open on APS-C. Seems to be better for this sort of images compared to it's modern incarnations.

Indeed not super sharp and corners are week especially on FF. It also vignettes so that I correct it in PP even at f8. But it makes K1ii feel like a pocket camera Thought I have to admit that it doesn't quite fit in my winter coats pocket. Yes, I had to try it...

Couple more with M40:

An other day at the stable. Winters gone again. This is a weird year with central european weather.

Is this a common means of conveyance in this area of Finland? Or, is this recreational travel?
