So smooth. M120 goes soft wide open, but you have used that feature wisely

Wow - very dreamy, yet decently sharp at the same time... Sweet lens!

One step makes huge difference in rendering in M120. Wide open bit soft and dreamy. One stop down it's already very sharp.

Wide open:

Very nice demonstration that you don't need to spend a fortune to get good photos! Maybe a M120 is in my future :-)

Nice image of a very nice dog and the M120 images are indeed not helping the GAS. Treats?

I spy many M120 lenses on ebay between 100 and 200 EUR. Very good value in this lens

At the plane of focus it's very sharp wide open, but that plane is very thin and just outside it there is some fringing which can impact image quality so critical focus is, well, critical.

Case in point, if you zoom into this image on Flickr you can see purple and green fringing around the white petals but it's not visible at normal viewing sizes.

Indeed, fringing in transition is the weaknes of M120. It can be found stopped down also like in the text on the back of the jacket of the vet:

Yet it does very good nightscapes and starbursts as long as you keep it all sharp:
