Thanks, it's our family summer house. Lovely place, but there are a lot of equally lovely places around lake area of Finland. We are filled with small lakes.

The area might have been appropriate for a log flume once, but as they are rather uncommon these days, will flooded trail be the safer bet

Which colors are used as markings on hiking trails in Belgium by the way? Or are the markings the same in all of Europe and it just happens to be the Austrian flag too

I believe that the colour combination of red and white is used throughout Europe for long-distance trails (GR's), shorter regional trails can have all sorts of markings mostly dependent on the local clubs that maintain them, I know that yellow and red are used in the Netherlands and the Club Vosgien has yet other markings.
