I finally caved in and bought a 50-500 Bigma from a forum member here in the market place. It will be here this week. I am sure I will be looking for some pointers here. I think I will need a case of some kind to store it and my K3 in. It will be interesting to see how much the lens stabilization helps. On my 400mm Tokina the in body only gives me about two stops at best.

I have already caved -- now AggieMom needs to cave. Then I'll oil up the Paypal and be on my way.

Couldn't get the 150-500 in Pentax mount

The message I posted on in March did not happen. The 150-500 in Pentax mount went to back order and then other sites showed it as discontinued. I contacted website and they were not sure if any more units would be supplied to them in the Pentax. They had a new K-3 with a extra battery holder for $799, so I ordered the K-3 since I didn't have enough $ to order a 50-500mm. I guess I'll have to look at used ones later. Maybe they will upgrade the 150-600 to Pentax mount.

The last of my Sigma 50-500mm OS shots taken on the K-5IIs. Now sold as I intend to buy the 150-450mm Pentax (still not sure I have done the right thing tbh)

Please let us know how you like the Bigma compared to the Tokina 400. If not appropriate in this thread, let us know where you post it.
