Agreed. I've commented a number of times at seeing dozens to nearly two hundred Turkey Vultures gathering before crossing the straits how they look like squadrons of aircraft planning their sorties. The Sandhill Cranes often circle as they fly northerly in the spring, southerly in the fall. The vultures seem more cautious about crossing water and drift along the shore and also kettle up when they find updrafts before crossing.
