Now i can join in here ordered on Tues. & it arrived Sat.,very fast shipping from Holland! & a great shop Pentax HD FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 DC AW - Telezoom - Objectieven Onze prijzen zijn internet-prijzen & the best prices in Europe!
Well on your recommendation I ordered a 150-450mm a few hours ago from Fotolooman. It is nearly 25% cheaper than in the UK and should hopefully be with me before the end of the week.

Looking forward to trying it at a couple of airshows next week ... now do I buy that K-3II or stick with my K-5IIs for the moment.

Cool they have in stock & are quick to deliver..best prices now..funny mainland Europe is cheaper than US or UK..gotta enjoy while it lasts

from what I find this is one of the only holster cases that fit lens & camera..

https://www.augenblicke-eingefangen.de/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturer...1fa3&anc=y#pic

I also await K3II reviews,as can't buy both that & FF this year..well I could..but
the AF preview buttons don't work on K5II...until FW is updated
its a heavy lens but worth the 'pain' in the arm

Wow. The clarity and detail is stunning! Have you noticed any significant differences between the K3 and K3II on this lens?

My 150-450mm arrived yesterday and I managed to get out this afternoon for a few hours. These are just a few of the pictures I took, there are loads more but I don't want to clutter up the forum.

Few taken with the 1.4x @ 630mm ... hand held but really needs some sort of support.

Thanks for providing these. The DA*300+1.4 is a bit disappointing here, seems like I've seen it do better in your hands?

The DFA zoom doesn't seem to play well with the 1.4, but on it's own it is very good from your samples.

The Sig 500 4.5 is excellent as usual.

So do you feel the DFA150-450 is easier to hand hold than the Sig 500 4.5 ?
Have to agree with Crew really. My DA*300 +1.4TC can beat all of these for IQ as they appear here, though I have no doubt they are much better viewed on your PC before sending.

Some recent ones (which is fairly obvious given the time the lens has been available ). All handheld @450 mm, all of them serious crops (25% of the original frame at best, most of them much less).

Cracking shots - really put the boot in with the White Spotted Bluethroat!

For bird photography I think there will be a simple question to answer. At the same focal lengths is the IQ as good as or better than the DA*300 alone and with TC and in each case does it focus faster and/or track better?
