That is an awesome photograph. All the right stuff in focus and full of action too. As Henri Cartier Bresson would say, you caught the "decisive moment" perfectly. It looks like an Audubon illustration. I saying 10 out of 10. Nice catch,
thank you for a very nice compliment!

The photo of the swallows is a pearler.

I came across a cat sunbaking outside a burrow when I was in the Flinders ranges. I don't much like cats, they are killing small native birds in my backyard.

ISO400 - f5.6 - 450mm - 1/320s

... AF (spot) is erratic with my K5IIs after 400mm,
so... manual focus, and i can see better results, it's really surprising

Are you a turtle? If you look behind the one on the right you can see some swamp gas bubbling up just to the left of him. Montezuma NWR. Central NY.

And another backlit with DFA 150-450

BIF with K-1 are significantly easier then with my K3.

I don't think that first shot is bad at all Noel and the second is pretty darn good.

Just jettison a little ballast there in the first shot. Very nice shots.

Like the second shot a lot. Just got back from the Barossa to find the Aussie post notice under the door so really good to see early shots and to know that BIF is easier than with the K3.
Hoping I can produce something as good as either shot
