I don't think it's mullet. The yellow eyes don't seem right. Click on the image for a larger view.
Yellow-eye mullet - Wikipedia

I'd need to scan through my reference books to see if I can find anything else with bright yellow eyes. When I was snorkelling and scuba diving I don't recall anything which looked similar, but I was also in Queensland at the time.

Apologies for the possibly off-topic post but does anyone have a recommendation of a tripod to match the DFA 150-450 please?

It's a minefield, but depends on budget really?

OK, but I was keen to know what current users of the same lens were using for a tripod.

In my case, a Velbon Ultra 655 with a Manfrotto Pro Ball Head. I looked at a lot of new tripods recently, but unless I wanted to spend Gitzo money, I couldn't find anything as stable or robust. Everything up to £350 seemed to have very thin lower legs and therefore low stability.

Hello RobG,
I have a Benro GC168T GoTravel1. It's carbon fibre and a monopod can be made out of one leg and the centre pole. It's light and very well made and engineered.
I haven't used it much and think it is a bit light-on when fully extended. The monopod is OK and the ball head does hold the camera and lens mass OK.
Most of my use with the tripod has been indoors, but I think a more substantial/heavier tripod would be more suitable for outdoor work.
Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Terry

I spent the $$ on Gitzo carbon fiber with a gimbal head as I have a Bigma 500mm 4.5 and FA* 300 2.8 as well. I bought the systemic series 3 with out the center post. It's light weight and prettty stable. Joe

I use the Feisol CT-3372, with a gimbal. I've been using the Sigma 500 f4.5 for a while, recently purchased this lens for a bit more flexibility.
