Again, nice shots Terry.

There are some at Braeside somewhere but I have yet to find them.
Thanks.
There are many old River Red Gums at Woodlands Historic Park that are full of them...lots of activity at the moment.

Cheers,
Terry

Brown Falcon, Woodlands Historic Park.
Not sure about the crop for this shot, but nothing I tried seemed to look 'right'.
K-3 II, D-FA 150-450 + 1.4x TC, handheld. See exif for shot details.

Cheers,
Terry

A quick question...if there is such a thing!
For images I post here, I usually export them from darktable as jpg, at about 1000 to 1200 longest side, and 85% - 90% quality.
I note that my posted images lose a lot of detail relative to what I see in my exported shot on my monitor.
Any advice as to how I could/should be preparing my images for upload to the site to display more detail?

Cheers,
Terry

First time shooting birds with my recently acquired lens. I'm glad this bright fellow stopped by.

Nice falcon shot!

For images I post on PF, I upload at 1024px on the longest side.

The more I use this lens, the happier I get with it, and I was never unhappy with it from the day it arrived. Both shots handheld. Pelicans: K-1, 1/1600, f/8, ISO 500. Hooded Merganser: K-1, 1/1600, f/7.1, ISO 500.

Update: Not sure why these look so desaturated on PF as compared to my computer, Flickr or Viewbug.

it is more than a telephoto lens

a big, heavy, expensive one true

but it can be used in many ways

some non traditional " killing time, experimentation photos "

no crop but pp
