Tawny Frogmouths

A pair of Tawny Frogmouths spend most of their days in trees at or adjacent to our place. Most years they raise one chick. This year it was two. They are as big as Mum and Dad now, and will probably leave home soon. Nice to see them all together for New Year though. I hope the fireworks don't disturb them too much.

K1, 450mm f/8, iso4000, cropped, no NR

Nice Cuom. What aperture were you using? I haven't seen such pronounced bokeh disks in my shots, but I don't have the TC, so maybe that's the cause.

I've had this on some of mine, but it's only when it's a bright reflective background, like water, or wet foliage on trees at. Pretty sure that's what you are seeing here.

You are right, it's water and bright reflective on trees...

A lucky shot. There were 2 Mature Bald Eagles and 2 immature ones on the lower Nisqually river today. There were also Seals feeding on the Salmon. K3ii and 150-450 lens at 450 setting. Joe
