Wedge-tailed Eagle.
I think this one is a juvenile.
Adults are reported to have a wingspan up to 2.8m.
Always happy to be able to get a reasonable shot of one of these, as they are often too high, or adults too dark, to get any detail.

Great shot of the Dotterel, they're such a tiny bird but you'd never guess it from that shot.

yes, they are tiny and the shot was cropped quite a bit. They are very hard to get close to unless you have some good cover.
Problem is that where I shot this bloke there are also White-headed Stilts and they have a severe complex...can't get within cooee without them taking off, voicing loudly and diving on me. All the other birds note the alarm!
