Xposted from K-1 thread:

The K-1 & HD DFA150-450mm combo resolving power continues to surprise me... If only this lens weighted what my DA*300mm does, I'd be in Pentax heaven, LOL!

For this amount of cropping while chasing bugs and birds, I'd prolly be better off with the one of the 24MP APSC bodies, as Normhead almost has me convinced, but then I get results like this, and have second thoughts. I still want an APSC as a 2nd body for long lens work someday... just waiting to see what the next announcement from Ricoh brings, as I am nothing if not patient. (the hallmark of being a Pentaxian. )

Heavily cropped to a little less than APSC size:

HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6ED DC AW ƒ/9.0 450.0 mm 1/1250 iso640

Same image file, insanely cropped:

Thanks! Do you mean the Embraer Tucano? No, the new trainers are the Pilatus PC21, replacing the PC9. The display team were the first to receive the PC21.

Pilatus makes really interesting aircraft. Swiss company. Different viewpoint the way Pentax is different. Over engineered, precise, efficient - single turboprop and business jet.

The RAAF seems to like them for trainers and spotters!

I've heard some hairy stories about the Pilatus Porter used on mail runs, landing on very short strips and dodging trees.
