Great pictures (the 2nd one too). I like this more because of the light/colours and the droplets on the back of the bird! Is this a hawk out in wild or at some park? It seems you managed to get quite close to it!

Thank you redpit. I like the first photo better as well for the same reasons. It is wild. We have 3 regulars that each have their own territory around the house. Usually I can only get within ~40 meters of them, as in this case. These are both crops of 100% or more.

Beautiful image! Do you have any top side photos? If you have any - during turns etc - I would love to see a sample!

I heard a loud bang on the roof last week, on my way outside to investigate I noticed this guy on the fence contemplating whether to fly down and pick up the small bird that had apparently caused the bang. I had enough time to get the camera and fire off some shots through the (very dirty) window before it flew off.

I'm not sure if it's a collared sparrow hawk or brown goshawk

X-posted elsewhere on the forum

Bearded dragons have two very different defensive strategies

Option 1 - puff yourself up, open your mouth and lunge aggressively at the threat

Option 2 - stay still and wait for the threat to go away

Fokker F50, RSAF.

Don't see them much as they aren't based at the airbase near my place.

Snapped a few weeks ago.

Anyone interested to know a bit more about the Fokker in RSAF service >>

Airbus A330 multi-role tanker transport, RSAF, 112 Squadron.

Just realised that A330-'62', in the photo in this news report, is the '62' i snapped days ago (see below).

I'm guessing a collared sparrowhawk, I think the goshawk has a more prominent eyebrow giving it a more intimidating look and is bigger (although it is hard to judge size from that shot). Great shot, even through the window!

I'm leaning towards collared sparrowhawk too but as I've never seen a goshawk either it's hard to compare the features.

Not so much with this image but, in general, I'm struggling with the AF consistency on this lens. Not sure if it's something I'm doing or not but I'll do some testing to try and figure it out.

Tell us what you're doing. Spot focus or multipoint? AF.S or AF.C? Shutter speed and aperture? Hand held or tripod? Moving subject or stationary? Single shot or burst?
