All of the above

Honestly - I think it's my technique using spot focus and AF.C (with the AF/AE-L button or lens button). Works great at shorter focal lengths but a little wobble is greatly exaggerated at distance with 450mm, easy to miss with AF.C.
Usually keep the shutter speed ~640+ with this lens handheld, aperture is typically 5.6-8.0. Single shot and a mix of moving/stationary.
I pretty much shoot handheld but I'll put it on the tripod and try some tomorrow.

Right now I think it's me getting used to dealing with the longer focal length.

To my eye the last bird picture I posted was very sharp and in focus, so I know the lens can do it.

Thanks!

heavily cropped.
Don't think managed to nail focus.
Handholding, though, obviously, need to improve the handholding.

Paired with the K-1, the D-FA 150-450 works very well in low light environments.

Not the birds that I was looking for, but the birds that I found. Great low-light performance with the K1-II and the 150-450mm lens.
