All the images from these series are great. I love the scenery and the theme but mostly the lack of sky in the background (I think I prefer the tighter frames but I enjoy all of them).

Thanks Redpit.... very flexible lens..... generally I just use the K1 on it as I like not only it's reach but also like using it at it's wider end... so K1 over KP for me mostly as a walk around camera.

Stunning shots! I was happy with getting a shot of a White-winged Fairywren, but nothing like yours. I never saw them when I visited the Flinders.

Thankyou..... however I had special circumstances this trip...... 10 days by myself with no agenda.... so once located.... I went back each day for a few hours and was able to spend some time getting in the best position for some photos.... maybe spent 10 or so hours in total with the wrens....I just love being in that country relaxing and enjoying nature.... the family group was just entertaining to watch.... also interesting seeing how close one could get.... I did notice it seemed easier wearing one particlular jacket then another I had.... also took up to an hour to locate them each day as they moved around a bit.

Wow, so lucky! I wish I could spend that long in a place focussed on a subject (literally and figuratively).

Is that on the eastern side of Wilpena Pound, or the western side of the Heysen range?

Cool! Back in 1989 I drove up to Leigh Creek and Arkaroola, but I returned via Wilpena Pound. I arrived at Leigh Creek at about midnight from Adelaide, so I never got to see the western side of the Heysen Range during the day. However, I did get to see water in some of the gorges.

Thanks!

The little buggers can be difficult to capture but once in a while I get lucky.

Thanks RobG ! This lens has really become a must have with me when I go for outdoors / nature shooting of any kind . I even bought a ThinkTank Holster 150 case just to hold the K-1 w/150-450mm mounted and ready to "draw" as they said in the old westerns, The ThinkTank holster has just enough room in the side pocket (supposed to be for water bottle) to carry a Limited or two or something small and other compartments for small stuff. I can't say enough how happy I have been with this lens. If only Ricoh could find a way to fill them with Helium or something to make them lighter!
