I struggle to get any life in a kangaroo's swampy dark eyes. However, it is a different story with Tawny Frogmouths, ...

Back on the nest again. That's six years in a row at least, at or adjacent to our place.

I have more luck with kangaroo's eyes on overcast days or late in the day, bright overhead sunlight seems to cause deep shadows and the lifeless black eyes. Certainly not a problem with that tawny frogmouth.

Not according to the rules ...

Most of the images in this thread are very naturalistic, with limited processing. This one goes against that grain.

The Brown Falcon is mine, the moon and sky are swapped in using ON1. Yes, I know it's cheesy, but my brother says he really likes it. [Previously posted in another thread that sank without trace.]

I brought the DFA 150-450 out for Fleet Week festivities last weekend here in SF.
Who says Pentax autofocus cannot hang with the others?? These jets were zipping past in a blur, and even my eyes could not track the flybys, but the camera caught it, and in good focus!

another pass, I could barely frame it...
