KP and the 150-450. All taken on 10/28/21.
A little late to the party - but the ??Pheasant?? shot is superb.

Amazing that it held still long enough to score such a clear photo. The Chickadees in my back yard are a lot more hyper.

Cheers,

K3 Mk III for this one tracking a wee rider learning how to race MX. This is at 1/125s @ 330mm. This was the first time I got to try this lens on the K3 Mk III and they work well together.

Did you pan the shot? Did you apply any special settings designed for motion in the K3 iii?

I recently purchased this body, but it hasn't arrived. This is the second photo on this site that demonstrates how well this lens/body unit freezes moving objects. I am looking forward to learning how to accomplish similar photos, but with birds in flight.

Cheers,
Loyd

Not your typical 150-450 shot... I get glimpses of Toronto and the CN tower if the weather cooperates... not so much today but I did like the pastel colours.

Rather surreal! I haven't used the lens for landscapes, but you have piqued my interest.

That's the awesome bit about the 150-450, it's super versatile for landscapes and wildlife

G'day, yes panning was required with this image. I was asked about settings with this lens and the K3 Mk III for another MX image and have posted that info here: Post your K3 iii pictures. - Page 71 - PentaxForums.com

I've only used this lens/camera combo twice and have been using it like the K-1 in this role so I've not taken advantage of all the improvements the K3 Mk III has. I plan on setting User modes for sports/action shots and as you can set up to 10 user modes I will likely have all my preferences set up in User modes. I probably only new 3-4 but it will save me time when I get to a location.

One thing I will say is to consider using TAv mode instead of Tv. Even in bright light I found with faster shutters speeds of 1/1000s and faster might end up with the aperture icon flashing red in the view finder. That's where I would push the ISO up to 200. Because of the variable aperture having it set to a usable working range and using TAv might be a better option to consider so the camera will let you focus on the subject not the settings. I'll be trying this next time I get out.

I'm a big fan of telephoto landscapes and recommend you check out this thread for examples / ideas: Post your Telephoto Landscapes! - PentaxForums.com
