Grey Butcher BIrd

This Grey Butcher Bird flew around and posed in a number of spots for me for quite a few minutes.

It was only after I got home and checked the pics on my computer that I noticed that one of the shots was not of this adult bird, but of an immature Grey Butcher Bird. I am assuming that it is the progeny of the adult I was photographing.

Hey, the B&W treatment works very well for this bedraggled looking trio!

Great Image.

Raptor doing what Raptors do (warning a bit gruesome)

I heard a bit of avian commotion in the park behind my house recently, and I found this Collared Sparrowhawk (Accipiter cirrocephalus) in a large pine tree lunching on an unfortunate Spotted Dove (I think). I was impressed by how quickly the Sparrowhawk was able to consume its meal and how it picked clean the bones. I guess 15-20 minutes and it was on its way. I moved to about 10m (yards) from it to get some better light without it being overly concerned by my presence. I assume the other birds were able to relax for the rest of the day after it left??

Some very cooperative Cedar Waxwings (out of quite a few between 2 trees). I took quite a few shots and these are probably my 3 most favorable ones. It was getting late and the sun was just going behind the trees but these guys kept perching in just the right spots.

They are good shots.

No.

The middle one is a good shot.

The top and bottom shots are excellent shots!

Thanks, that is basically how I see it as well. I ordered prints of all 3 but 8 x 10's of either the top or bottom one. 4x6 for the others. They are such a sleek looking bird to photograph.
