K 300 goes birding - again

I know, I'm getting obsessed with these birds but I'm having fun.

Wonderful shots, Tom. Like the color and sharpness. Thanks for posting these-will inspire me to wok my 300 more to try and achieve something close to these-has been cloudy/rainy here for the past 3-4 days-it figures as I was on vacation.

Thanks again

Thanks Nick,

The old K 300 is a lot of fun. It takes a little more effort than a modern lens but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I look forward to seeing your K 300 shots soon.

SMC Pentax K 200 f 2.5

Just about to rain on a grey overcast day here in Waterloo. I managed a few shots before the showers.

This one had a Secret Garden feel about it.

and in the ditch

some interesting weeds.

K50/1.2

A few weeks ago I got a K50/1.2. Sent it to Eric for a once-over (I considered that a good investment) and here are two from this afternoon - IKE is on the way and the light was chalenging. #1 is unaltered except resize. #2 adjusted levels in Photoshop Elements - but I think I did a hamhanded job. I like the fact that the PEF's are still around to work on later.

#1 K50/1.2 f/1.2

#2 K50/1.2 f/8 levels adjusted

Nice! Actually, that's not a T-34; can't be positive from the tight crop, but I believe it's a T-55 (sorry for the nitpick, I'm a tank geek as well as a photography geek )

OK 24x36now - thanks for the heads up on that one. My mistake. It's still a pretty cool lawn ornament in spite of the rust.

K400 f5.6

OK guys,
so here's my ticket to this one.
I took it for a walk to Richmodn park in London, and since this chap didn't mind me at all I managed to handheld the combo to get this nice snap:

You must have very steady hand Axl. I've given up trying to handhold my K 300mm and yet you manage this with a 400mm!!! Well done.

Pentax K 300 goes birding again

Hi all,

I caught up to the finches again today. They have changed from their bright yellow to a more muted fall colouration. All images Pentax k10, SMC Pentax 300mm f4, ISO 100.

Cheers

SMC Pentax K 200 2.5

Hi all,

Just back from freezing to death at the Girl's Field Hockey game. Temp was close to 0 (32 F) with a few flurries. The K10 shake reduction sure got a work out today. I used the K 200 2.5 for most of the shots. Here's a few:

Cheers,

Tom G
