The K 35/3.5 is a great lens indeed. I'm lucky enough to also have the 28/3.5 and they have different characters. The 28mm is much larger though.

I dropped my car off at the shop this morning and walked back through downtown Knoxville (so no new lenses for a while, even a K200!). The K28 continues to impress:

A graffito celebrating the closest thing we have to a patron saint:

Still looking for a waiting for a 52mm CPL:

This shot is beyond my post-processing capabilities at present, but I'm really digging the K28's focal length:

Does colors, too:

I recently took this picture with my K24mm f2.8. I also have a love/hate relation with this lens since somebody said to me that the copy I have is maybe a bad copy cause it presents a lot of distorsion from the right side. If someone of you has a K24mm and can tell me if this is so, I will be very pleased. I will show two pictures of the same building. The first one is longer than the second one and does not present so much distorsión (IMHO); and the second one is just a proof of getting closer to the right side of the building.

The first one:

And the second one:

I have had the K105/2.8 for ages and should have used it more, as it's very good. (I have tended to use the M100/2.8 because it seems a bit lighter.) This is the old Supreme Court building in Singapore, which is being restored and converted into an art gallery.

Taken at f/5.6. Cropped and straightened slightly in LR.

Hope you approve.

Tim

An overlooked gem, for sure. Excellent perspective in that photo, with the orange barrier working surprisingly well as part of the composition.

x-post from this lens's sample thread:

Nice set ! Not one of the K"s that I have, but you do good work with it. Definitely renders colors very well.

Thanks very much...the colors out-of-camera were a really pleasant surprise for me--I might like them better than the signature "Limited" look, but I'm anxious to see how it handles more "natural" environments. (Still under the "Mendoza Line" for keepers with MF, though!)

That really does seem to be a lovely lens in Timo's hands...I'm really impressed with the subtle tones in the stonework and friezes. How do you think the K105 compares with the K135 f2.5? That's a lens I've been obsessing over lately...

I don't have the latter lens, but from what I've seen I find the character of it pretty similar to the 105. The 135 seems to be a more popular lens, so the prices don't vary as much, whereas the 105 seems to have suffered a drop in demand and can sometimes be picked up relatively cheaply.

Thanks, it might be one to have on my radar...since I'm looking mostly for something to collapse the planes in landscape shots (and not to do, say, portraits or wildlife) it might make sense to sneak a medium tele in the house.

I just picked up a slightly beat up K80-200/4.5 for $20. (A bit of haggling with pawn store employees to talk them down from the $50 price they had marked, and my first pawnshop lens, so I'm a bit proud ) I'm quite interested to try it out! I'll have to put a roll through one of my empty bodies with just this lens.

K28 f3.5

Was out last evening and visited this slough which over the years has been used as a bit of a dumping ground. This car had been here long enough to serve as a planter for some wild rose bushes--a pity my visit didn't coincide better with their blooming. It seems old cars are also good for target practice. The skies are all smokey due to forest fires in the NWT, which gives a soft light. 1/6 second @ f8.

K55 1.8

The last rays of the sun, just before sundown, travelling almost horizontally, reflected redly from the trunks of these aspens. I swear, the camera was level, but this grove of trees is growing tilted towards the west. 0.6 seconds @ f11

Lovely pair of images, John. The orange light on the aspens against the bright green grass is especially striking.

I really like the aspen shot--they must the most photogenic tree this side of a beech--but I'm not seeing the first shot of the car that baro-nite refers to, at least in Internet Explorer.

At any rate, I'll look forward to more shots--I just picked up this lens and am very curious how it handles "in the wild."
