That's a great set--the old gal seems remarkably well-behaved with what must have been pretty contrasty light, too.
Thanks for the comment!

Yes, the ol' lens does fairly well even in high-contrast scenes. Certain conditions and settings create a harsh bokeh to my eyes, but generally it's pretty good, especially for wider scenes.

Caught a break in the drizzle this afternoon to try to figure out the K135 2.5/Canon 500d close up lens a bit...not-bokeh to my eyes, at least in soft light.

Took a day trip to Yellowstone yesterday. Didn't see much so didn't get much. Did see some pronghorn. K-3 and K400 f/5.6, 1/1000 @ f/8, ISO 400. I tried to catch a soaring eagle but my MF skills have deteriorated considerably.

I've decided to try my hand at the "Single in" challenge, and am going to use my K30/2.8. I wanted this lens for a long time, but haven't ever used it as much as I should, especially on digital (I have mainly used it with my film cameras). This seems a good way of making me learn this lens.

Unless anyone objects, I will cross-post the images here.

Day 1: Ghandi in Tavistock Square. Having got back and processed the image, I wish I had stopped the lens down a little more. Ho hum, live and learn.

Not at all - wonderful image!

I trotted out my K55/1.8 and I'm trying to give it a little early Springtime work. A couple images with a K100D.
wide-open:

f/2.4

Many thanks. Here are a few more from the same session, with the same lens. These were all taken inside an old prison.

Better and better...I don't think you could have picked a better FL if you had a zoom. (FWIW, I also appreciate your ability to "square-off" the horizontals and verticals of your architecture shots...I'm usually off several degrees NNW.)
