Nice shot Tom! The K200/2.5 is on the heavy side, how do you find it for handheld shooting on your K2?

A Couple more K 200/2.5 rugby shots

Thanks dadipentak.

Rugby is fun to shoot as you get all those great facial expressions with no helmet blocking things.

Gofour3 -

I don't find the K 200/2.5 bad at all on any of my cameras: MX, K2 or K10D. Yes, it is hefty but balances beautifully on all of them. It is by far my favourite manual focus lens. As I've said before fast glass is like fast cars and fast women. It's always more expensive and a lot more fun. - or so I've heard.

Here's a couple of more from the same lens and same game.

This kid was a real load.

After seeing the pictures that Tom G took with his K200/2.5, I had to get my own copy.

I found this one in an online camera store in Germany. Just waiting for a 77mm UV filter to arrive, then will take it out for some test shots.

Good choice gofour3.

I think you will really enjoy your new lens. I have a bunch of manual focus lenses and this is my favourite hands down.

K 35 f/3.5

Yeah, I've been hoping Tom would decide to sell that K 200 2.5. No luck so far.

Here are some shots from the K 35 f/3.5, a lens that probably should be considered
one of Pentax's sharpest.

We have those little fluffy seeds (Aspen?) blowing all over the place now. You'll
find places where they've all 'gathered' like sea foam on the shore:

Here are some from the other day and another thread, re-posted for posterity
in the K-club!

If I do sell it Jay I’ll give you the first shot at it.

At the moment, to quote Charlton Heston, you will have to pry it “from my cold dead hands.”

Nice work with the K 35/3.5 bye-the-way.

I'm very impressed, Jay! That ant on peony knocked my socks off and I love the balls (balloons?) in net.

While I'm here, here's one of my best yet with the SMC 1000 f/8

Nice shot! That must be a fun lens to carry around, you need a caddie like in golf!

Very nice Dadipentak.

I would really like to have a close look at that monster. Aside from some spinal compression carrying it around it must be a lot of fun. I'll carry it around for a while if you let me take a few shots.

gofour3

Congrats on that K 200/2.5. Looking forward to some great shots from that puppy. So far I have found it ideally suited to sports and auditorium settings. Not bad for "ambush portraits" either.

It's no backpacking lens for sure but really not that difficult to deal with. Still, I do most of my shooting with it from my porch.

I'll be taking it to the Pentaxian Gathering over on the Eastern Shore next month. Join us if you want to take some shots with it.

1000/f8

That's a heck of a lens, indeed. There's currently one on eBay (Item number: 270398621422, if anyone's interested).

I notice that there's a description on Bojidar's K-mount site, but no review of any in these Forums. Perhaps that's something you could get around to, in the fullness of time, dadipentak.

I initially thought the 1000/f8 might be an offshoot of Pentax's telescope division, and its external appearance suggests that, but I see it's a five-element lens, which perhaps suggests otherwise. Anyone the wiser on this point?

Nice to see someone's using such a beast, in any event.

OK. Now that I've seen the brute I take back my offer to carry it around. Won't be able to make the gathering but perhaps someday. In the meantime have fun with that one.
