Nice shots, did you use a tripod or are you able to hand hold using a fast shutter speed?

I've only used my K400 on a tripod.

those are all from tripod but I did succeede handholding that lens couple of time. Usualy I use in monopod though.
But honestly, the best shots (most of them) with that lens came from it being on the tripod.

SMC Pentax 100mm F4 Macro

I recently rejoined the K-Club with the 100MM F4 Macro (gave my last K-Lens (50/1.4) to a buddy, who had only shot zoom lenses).

I'll second that--wow! I especially like that B&W, Robbie and the 7.62 macros are outstanding.

Thanks for the very generous comments guys. My kit is still out performing me though but I am striving to get better and encouragement like that will always be appreciated.

K 200/2.5

Great stuff Robie and 7.62lew.

Went for a walk with my K 200/2.5 today. Came across a fledgling robin (I think), which had fallen into the pond. He had saved himself and struggled into the branches to dry off.

The rest, just a little flora I saw along the route.

Cheers

Congrats on that K 200/2.5. Looking forward to some great shots from that puppy. So far I have found it ideally suited to sports and auditorium settings. Not bad for "ambush portraits" either. Tom G

I finally got some scans done from my first K200/2.5 outing. I was also using my new KX for the first time, before sending it off to Eric for a CLA. Film was Kodak Portra 400VC.

I used the K200/2.5 again yesterday and I must admit it’s one of the nicest Pentax lenses that I have used.

And the more you use it the more you will like it. Welcome to the K 200/2.5 club.

Here is a Pentax price list I got for January 23, 1978.

These are the MSRP in USD.

Note the K135-600/6.7 zoom costs more that K1000/8.0?

Interesting and thanks for posting this gofour3.

It's nice to take a look back at the price of things. It seems cameras and lenses were very expensive in the 70s. I started teaching in 1978 for a princely salary of $16,000 as I recall. After taxes etc. there wasn't a lot of disposable income for cameras and the like. This gear was way out of reach for me at that time.

It seems our K 200/2.5 commanded a pretty steep price back in the day as well. I wonder what that would be in 2009 dollars?
