Some playmobil battle scenes from a display in the local shopping centre. I only posted shots from up high as the other were taken through the glass display case, which was nice and clean but the reflections still lowered the contrast too much.

K 35mm f/3.5, wide open on Fuji X-M1.

Nice shooting, Jonathan and Steve. Here's a shot taken at a local park with a K55/1.8:

Some Autumn leaves with the K 35/3.5 on the Fuji X-M1. I'm still getting used to the PP software for the Fuji and while trying to get the levels right on the last shot I drastically reduced the contrast, then found that I quite like it like that, so I left it.

smc PENTAX 'K' 28mm F3.5

Here's a little bump for the K-Club.

The Morris Island Conservation Area is located near Arnprior, Ontario, about 40 km west of Ottawa. Situated on the Ottawa River, the protected area features a variety of wildlife, hiking trails, and a number of small islands. In this picture, the annual explosion of Autumn colours is just starting.

from this amazing little lens

Uh-oh, LBA activated. The OOF areas are just blowing my mind for a lens of the focal length.

Some K Lenses That May Be of Interest

Since this is a group that has some passion around K series lenses, I thought I'd mention that I'm downsizing my lens collection and am planning to list most of my K lenses in the forum marketplace in the next few days. I have six K series lenses in all:
  • 30 f2.8
  • 35 f3.5
  • 50 f1.4
  • 55 f1.8
  • 135 f2.5
  • 200 f2.5
From what I can tell by my readings here, these are among the most highly regarded of the K series.

I'm leaning toward keeping the 30 and the 55, but plan to list the others.

Just thought I'd give this group a heads up in case anyone is interested in rounding out their K collection.

That's a great collection! The 50 is the least interesting in that the same optical formula, more or less, has been used all the way through to the FA version. But the others are all distinctive and, as you say, highly regarded. Good opportunity for you LBAddicts out there!

I probably won't be a buyer, but thanks so much for the heads-up!

I expect the K135/2.5 to become a hot item once the FF DSLR appears next year.

I have never really got on with my K24 - much preferred my old FA*24 for some reason. Anyway:

Rhinocerous taken with Pentax K-x and Pentax-K 200/2.5 by Jason Doss, on Flickr

The K200/2.5 can make some really spectacular images, but unfortunately it's weight and bulk cause it to be left at home a lot... except for trips to the zoo. Taken with the lowly K-x... I'm looking forward to seeing some output with a more modern body (K-Sx) or the FF.

Great lenses, LBA, and a missed opportunity?

Excellent lenses, all of them.

I visited a camera show (flea market) several weeks ago. One of the guys was selling a K 135/2.5 in pristine condition, including caps and a very clean case. He was asking CAD $175, so I might have bargained to $160 (USD $125; EURO 110; GBP 80). Well, despite my wife asking if I saw anything I might like to get, I kept my LBA fully in check and walked out empty-handed. I'm saving for other stuff, and I have a DA* 50-135 to cover that focal length. I know, I know, it was a good deal and I should have snapped it up. Is there such a thing as 'non-buyers remorse'?
