I was interested to see that wide open the K85 gives a swirl not unlike that normally associated with Soviet lenses.

That's a very moment you captured there, but the colours look a bit overcooked to me, or is that my monitor (at work now where I have a fairly crappy monitor)?

Yep, I just played with the white balance in-camera and this was as close I could get to what I saw.

To reinforce the notion of keeping the lens, I had a chance ten years ago to buy a K 28/2, a K 200/2.5 and two other lenses -- all for CAD $150. I opted to not make the 3-hour car drive to get them. And a decade later, I still regret my decision. Sometimes, uncommon, unique lenses are well worth the price.

I'm enjoying your images taken with the Hollywood.

Wow, that would have been an even better deal than I got (well, maybe not when factoring in the petrol). Do you mean the K 200 f/2.5? There was also an f/4, but no f/3.5 I'm aware of.

The 28/2 is taking a bit of a back seat at the moment while the A 35/2 gets some use, but it's a relief to know that there's no longer a time limit on it's use.

Even though the 28/3.5 is one of my favorites I haven't used it as much recently, often taking the 35/3.5 instead. But I brought it on a recent trip.

Well the K 28mm f/2 won the right to go on holiday to Asturias as my manual prime, beating my traditional M 35/2 and the newly-acquired A 35/2 for that honour
