Thanks Lars. Have you had a chance to take the K135 out yet?

After seeing axl's shots with his K24/2.8, I decided to bring it with me for this trip. It was too cold to be changing lenses so I really didn't use the K as much as I should have but here are a few from the Peggy's Cove area of Nova Scotia..

Very nice, and you managed to stay out of the usual Peggy's Cove shots. Well done, and what a wonderful lens.

Those are really great shots. I have only done the obligatory first tests with the K135 F2.5. I do it in 3 steps.
1. Last year I found a toilet paper with a pattern that is really excellent for an initial test of lenses ....It has both low and high contrast pattern. I set the camera on a tripod (or just put in on the table), I focus a little bit longer than minimum focus distance for the lens and then shoot with 2 secs MLU.
2. Shooting a textured roof on one of my neighbour's house where focus is at infinity.
3. I start using the lens for "real" taking lots of different pictures, in other words I use it just like my other lenses and this is of course the best way to judge a lens.

So far I have done step 1 and 2, and my copy seems sharper than my M 135mm F3.5 and K 120mm F2.8 (sold it a few weeks ago). However, I have yet to do some serious real life testing.

Kind regards
.lars

Great shot Jots...the reflection combined with the mist sets a nice mood for the shot. How do you like the 24/3.5?

Jots, that's a great shot. I really like the mood.

I have a question regarding the use of external flash with K/M-lenses. What is your preferred method? I avoid flash as much as possible (I hate that light) but when bounced it can be tolerable. Do you set the flash to manual mode and dial in all info or do you leave it at pttl and use +/- flash compensation ?

Kind regards

I like it a lot. This lens is a new acquisition for me. But then, I find all of my K lenses to produce very good pictures. I am very happy with all of them.

Hi Lars,
Thanks for your comment.
I don't much use flash. But if I need to use it, I use my flash with Auto-thyristor feature (AF280T) with my manual lenses and PTTL flash (AF500FTZ, AF330FTZ) with my DA lenses. It makes it simple for me.

Is this correct???
AFAIK only AF540FGZ and 360FGZ are PTTL those two you mention are TTL only.

My mistake. I meant to write TTL..., thanks for pointing it out.

K50 f1.2 between f2 and f5.6 afaik , cant remember which exactly.

Taken at work when I had a moments spare time. With valentines day and such I thought I could post this without getting smacked to death .
One of the earliest shots I've taken with my K 50mm that I got the day before.
The focus was on the heart, which is why I left the two piggies slightly blurred.

Not postprocessed in lightroom, uploaded straight from the camera jpeg.

(Dont kill me ^^ Im a newbie)

+1 I really like the play of light and the "tonality". It almost looks like film!

Haven't posted on here for a while. Thought I would throw down some shots from my only K lens; The 50mm f/1.4 I got from KEH a while ago.

Here's a shot of the lens on my camera taken using the 2 sec timer in a mirror

This was for a valentines day card we sent out to friends. We added some text and hearts and whatnot in the final version

Sundial at a local park that came out nice

abstract of some ice and snow on a walkway at the same park

scared up some geese to shoot them against the wintery sky

and finally some studio work. This lens is so sharp, you can zoom to 100% and count the eyelashes.
