Nice, luckily you weren’t drinking Canadian beer or you never would have been able to take that shot!

Well, I took a shot at ISO 1600 with my K200D. I'm pleased.

Yep, confused but never about beer. I hate the beers photographed but they make OK models.

Hey ducdao, I noticed you have a K 50mm 1.4, M 50mm 1.4 and A 50mm 1.4, which one in your opinion, in terms of optical quality (particularly sharpness wide open) do you think is the best one???

K50/f1.4 all the way. It might be just me though. I love the K version so much that I bought 5 of those, definitely not for backup purposes since they are built like a tank!

Haha, dude you have any idea how much inflation you've caused by doing that?

I love the shot of the waterfront Phil. I had sellers remorse, so I picked up another K15 with the 7 4 2 markings which seems to be in the same shape. It makes me wonder how many are out there and if they truly are AL? Have you been able to pick up more info on them other than the Dimitrov site?

jianing90 - great shot! I tool mine out and it no longer focuses to infinity I'm not sure what it would take to fix it......

Thanks Steve. I can see how you missed using your copy and I’m glad you found a replacement. It’s a great lens (especially the FL on film) and I really like using it around town.

The “7 4 2” distance scale is the only way I know of distinguishing the aspherical and spherical versions apart, this also applies to the Takumar 15/3.5. There is a link on the Dimitrov site, pointing to a Japanese page showing how to compare the rear elements, but I’m not sure what to look for. Unless someone from Pentax states otherwise, that’s all we have to go by. (Other than taking the lens apart and inspecting the elements) The serial numbers don’t seem to be of much help either. You do see the odd AL for sale, but not enough to be alarmed by. Kevin Cameras has had one available for a couple years in a less than ideal condition and there is a Tak 15/3.5AL for sale on the PF & on eBay.

Just taken a handful shots with the K24/2.8, just boring ones to try out flare-resistance, bokeh etc.

However, quite like this one for some reason:

K10D, K24/2.8, 1/250 @ f/2.8, ISO 200
