I'll try and get my copy out in the next couple off weeks for a stretch on the new K-5. Will try and keep it stopped down for sharper results.

......I have a feeling some the issues with this lens, PF CA etc., would be less of a problem with the new K5. Being able to shoot at higher apertures would alleviate some of these complaints.

Does anyone with a K5 and K300/4 care to put my theory to the test?

I'll be looking forward to the results WiseOx. I suspect the K5 will bring out the best in the old 300/4.

Cross-posted a couple of times, but for the sake of the K55 ... This is my fastest lens at the moment. I'm still getting used to good bokeh

Nice shot! I'll be joining 'the club' soon myself - I also just acquired a K55/1.8. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but I love the build & the smooth focus. It's my first K and hopefully not the last...

Congrats! I have that lens and I can tell you it's pretty darn sharp wide open + great color and contrast...

My shot above was wide open. It's amazing how thin even 1.8's DOF is ... I do like the colors and contrast on it as well. The best part was it was part of my dad's kit that he gave to me

Here's my first shot with the 55/1.8 wide-open right here with an M50/1.7 lens on my desk with an open window to my right. I think I'm gonna like this lens

Agreed, it's almost crazy how thin the DOF is on the lens and at the same time sharp...

The other thing I like about the lens, the focal length of 55mm, I know it seems like 50 or 55 wouldn't make a difference but it seems like it does and just being a little larger (than the M50) makes for easier all around handling.

I love my K55 too! I prefer the 55mm focal length than the 50mm.

Nice one, mkvlln! Here's a couple more from my new 55/1.8 - yeah, that extra 5mm does make a difference compared to the 50s. Had to back up a bit more for these (xposted from bokeh)

Great shots Steve & gtxtom! Steve I’m assuming that they weren’t taken in B.C.?

Here are couple taken with my K105/2.8, using my KX film camera.

Nice ones Paul and even with the new lens, they have your signature "smooth" finish!!! How do you like the k55?

I was in a photography shop the other day to see if they had any interesting Pentax glass, and I found a rare K20mm f/4 in very good condition. It´s a big beast with a very small focus throw, but fantastic to hold. Unfortunately, it was €235, which is too pricey for me, but I´d love to have been able to buy it .
