Love this shot, this and the other make me now want to acquire a K24 too and I've only had the 55 but a minute. Lovely work

Hi, I am new here. I just got a Pentax K-r. I have an assortment of old Sears lenses with K-mounts. I would like to purchase a few more K-mount lenses from different makers and need advice. I am currently scouring EBay but getting the idea that K-mount manual lenses (with or without Auto) are hard to find. What would anyone suggest? I particularly love vintage lenses—are there any that are purely manual with just a K mount (no pins nor adapter needed)? I will purchase new lenses if I have to. (My camera came with an 18-55 kit lens.)

No, not hard to find. Try this on eBay: search for pentax lens -(autofocus,DA,FA,67,645,6x7) and click the "lenses and filters" category, and then the "lens" category within that. That'll get you down to a few thousand listings, some of which will still be autofocus and/or automatic, but listings aren't always specific enough for easy filtering.

What is it that you don't already have with your current lens selection?

It would be better to ask this question here - Pentax SLR Lens Discussion - PentaxForums.com This thread is specifically about the K series made by Pentax in the late 70's. You can study them here - Pentax K Prime Lenses - Reviews and Specifications - SLR and Interchangeable Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database The K series was the first K mount series of lenses from Pentax and it's basically fully compatible with DSLR's (just press the green button).

There are literally 1000's of lenses available on Ebay which will do exactly what you are looking for. Most of them are also quite cheap (<$100). I typically stick to Pentax brand lenses and avoid older zooms. It's likely that any Pentax brand prime will be somewhere between very good to absolutely outstanding. There are also some excellent non Pentax lenses available that are sometimes even better than Pentax brand. However older zooms don't have very good reputations although there are a few stellar lenses like the Pentax A35-105.

K 200/2.5

Not a lot of action in this thread of late.

Took the old Pentax K 200/2.5 to a football game a week or so back.

Too bad I cut off the ball at the top of the shot but I was pretty happy just to get him in focus.
