Thank you!
Has anyone found a nice 52mm hood for this lens that takes advantage of the 1.5 crop factor (so I would imagine a bit longer than the original)?
I also would like a hood for my K 28 3.5...
Hey how have you been? I picked up both of those lenses recently and I use a standard 52mm metal hood with a 55mm lens cap for the 28mm lens. Like this one Fotga 52mm Screw Mount Standard Metal Lens Hood for Canon Nikon Pentax Sony Hot | eBay

And a 52mm tele metal hood with a 58mm lens cap for the K55 like this one. 52mm Tele Metal Lens Hood for Canon Nikon Sony Olympus | eBay

I'm good, thanks! Looking forward to the next SoCal photo adventure.
I appreciate the lens hood links. The hoods look nice, and you sure can't beat the price.
If you confirm no vignetting wide open, I will buy the exact same hoods.

No vignetting wide open on either lens on cropped DSLR. Just went to double check the K28 just to make sure. I also use the same hoods on my K35 3.5 and K 50 1.4 ( I know, damn LBA)

More with K55

I still haven't picked up a lens hood, but I took my K55 to the beach this week on vacation. Here is a landscape, medium, and closeup shot with it.
In my opinion, some of my more modern glass would have done a better job with the highlights in the landscape, but I prefer the realistic skin tones in the portraits to DA glass.
Plus, I like taking less expensive gear to the beach...

Wonderful! Relics of a classic age.

(But has someone messed with the suspension on the dark blue car, the first one in the background? Looks suspiciously low. I wish they wouldn't ... )

Great shot.

Thanks!

The K28mm f3.5 is one of the best resolving, sharpest lenses of its kind, and its taken many wonderful crisp photos for me...so I thought I'd post this one instead; its crowd bokeh created by focusing on the head of a spectator sitting in front of me - hope you like it!!! (Not everyone does...)
