Thanks for elaborating--those two lenses are the horns of a dilemma (but in a good way!) especially now that their prices are coming close to overlapping. No doubt the FA77's AF would be a boon to these middle-aged eyes, but as always, there's something about those K's...

Greetings form Holland. On a short walk through the village of Vleuten, near Utrecht, with the K135/2.5 this shiny object always manages to create interesting images, and this wonderful lens makes the best of it. It's interesting how my least used lenses (wide angle 15 and tele 135) don't get the use they deserve.

Great pictures! I love that 45-125 look. One day I'll be getting one...

There are good lenses. There are great lenses. And then there's the K85/1.8. One of the most exasperating lenses I have, but when it's in the mood, it's a beauty.
Agreed, it's something special! But it's also expensive and I bet it will get even pricier with time... a good investment, I'd say

hoopsontoast has inspired me to try this combination - K85/1.8 and Raynox 250

Lovely result, by my calculations, the RCD-250 gets the K85 just shy of 1:1 (0.93x) IIRC. The long focus throw really helps!

Those are really impressive, gents!

A question (but no need to be precise)--what is your minimum/maximum focus distance while using the K85 with the Raynox? (FWIW, my K135 with close-up lens goes from about 24" to 30", measured from the focal plane mark.)

Not sure what the working distance is, a couple of inches or so I think, with the DCR-250 (8-Dioptre).

Thanks for elaborating--that's thin enough that it might take a macro rail to make that combo work for me in the field, but you sure can't argue with the results.

That's a big hammer for a flower lens--lovely! A question, though: was there a lot of fringing "pre" post with the lightish background? I'm still trying to tame my copy of the beast, so I'm curious as to others finesse this lens.

A couple of hand-held night shots with the K24/2.8.

Actually at first I was taking some shots with my raynox 150 attached to the 135 and decided take some backlit without the raynox. I did not do so well with the raynox but Ilike this shot. Regarding the fringing. If you look at the the edge of the lower white flowers you can see an outline left after removing the fringing in lightroom.

Thanks for elaborating--I've been trying to use a Canon 500d on my K135 in a similar capacity: the results can be wild and wooly at times! At any rate, you're giving me something to shoot for...
