Can anyone spec me a suitable hood for my beloved SMC 30mm F2.8? After shooting a few in town the other day I think it needs one and the rubber collapsable one I have doesn't really do anything?
Looking for a metal or plastic one that won't obstruct the FOV?

I'll be watching this closely for responses. The original one is impossible to find and I'd also like one for my 30/2.8.

The original hood isn't marked for this lens specifically. It's the "52mm Lens Hood K Wide Lens". On the hood itself it's indicated for "SMC Pentax 1:2 - 3.5 35mm 28mm". Not as hard to find as some of the other original Pentax hoods; I ended up with two of them.

I don't have the link handy, but I purchased a generic metal hood for my K24, threads into the filter threads and works perfectly fine.

The Nikon hood HN-2 works fine, I am using it for the 2.8/30 and the 35/2.0. 52 mm filter ring. Only for non-purist-Pentaxers, though.

I was wondering if it would work. I have Nikon filters on two of my lenses, so no, whatever works is good with me.

Thanks

I've been using the generic metal "standard" hoods for my M28/3.5 and A35/2.8. They work great and are easily found on evilbay.

Oh and regarding the hood: on the K5 i use a Nikon HN-3 metal hood... On the K2 i use a B+W rubber wide angle hood.
