So I found the K club! The search function of this forum is not that good so I gave up and posted separately asking for help and got it. Here are my pics where they belong.

Some ice with the SMC Pentax 28mm f3.5, a very sharp lens, on the KX with tri-X.

My 7 year old daughter could not resist breaking the ice, but I got my pic before she did it.

K 30mm f/2.8 Inside looking Inside

Yep, I'm a Tubes fan... :-)

Weather is loosening up here in MTL finally, but it's all filthy and grey and icky right now- but I must go shoot during golden hours a bit this week!

These are from inside, since I've been at the desk grindstone like crazy- all with the fantastic K30mm f/2.8. at 2.8 or 4, depending, mostly 2.8 for maximum DOF.

Second two are some fun shots I took when picking up some chinese takeout last night- the owners love photography! Of course the lighting was a nightmare- overhead flourescent tubes in the ceiling panels, incandescent wall sconces, and neon signs on the walls!

I wanted to get the hot food home, but took some shots to appease their enthusiasm: I'll print some up (not shown here) and take them back for maybe a free noodle dish!

Photography for food!

Tom G suggested I join the K Club since I've recently acquired two K lenses (the 1000mm f8 and 200mm f2.5.) Despite my advance age, I'm fairly new to photography and do most of my shooting with new-fangled AF lenses but these lenses seemed well worth the money and effort.

I've been inspired by the amazing stuff in this thread so I'm determined to give it a go. Here are a couple of my best so far: the hawk with the 1000mm and the daffodil with the 200mm (+ extension tube).

Welcome aboard dadipentak. Nice work. I can't imagine having a 1000mm lens to work with. It must be exciting but carrying it around must be a chore. Keep them coming.

Portrait brothers reunited.

After a long search I finally found the big brother to my K85/1.8 on eBay, the elusive K105/2.8.

Here are a couple of pictures of the reunited happy family.

Well done gofour3. That's like finding the Holy Grail of the K Kingdom. Now you need a 50/1.2, 135/2.5 and the 200/2.5 to complete the set.

Thanks, I was happy to finally find it. I do have the K50/1.2 & K135/2.5 but not the K200/2.5.
I ended up getting the K200/4 instead. The K200/2.5 is fairly easy to find, it’s just the cost.
Maybe some day, as it's a great lens and it would be nice to have something faster at that focal length.

gofour- terribly jealous of your 85mm f/1.8! I picked up a tamron sp 90mm f/2.5 since I can't afford a K 85mm.

Do you have the 30mm f/2.8? I have one that purchased for a song, and I love it to bits!

You have several of the lenses I covet most: the 50/1.2, 85/1.8 and the 105/2.8. By all accounts they are superb. I've got either end covered with the 24/.8, 135/3.5, 200/2.5 and 300/4 but need to fill in a few expensive holes in the middle.

Cheers

Tom G

I have the K28/3.5 and the K35/2, but not the K30/2.8. They are all great wide angle lenses, I’d be happy to own them all, but unfortunately you have to pick and choose!!

I got the K28/3.5 as part of my first Pentax purchase back in '75, so it's still one of my favorites. It was one of the cheapest wide angles at the time, but still a great lens.
(If I had the money I most likely would have bought the K30/2.8 or the K28/2.0.)

I would be nice to be able to go back in time and buy them all at 1970’s prices!

That would be nice Phil as long as we weren't earning an 1970's salary at the same time.

I recently acquired this as well. Unfortunately, my copy is damaged - the aperture doesn't open at all. I think the spring has come off - does that make sense?

I haven't even been able to test it yet because of this, and I haven't yet had time to take it apart or to send it away for repairs.

I've got the Super Tak 105/2.8 and assumed that it was the same lens, just different mount - is that true?
