K-3 with Tokina AT-X SD 150-500mm f5.6

these are little softer than I'd like, but I think it's my technique that is at fault, not the lens... I just need to work with her more...

After seeing the wonderful pepperberry farm images from his Pentax-A 35-105mm, I gave mine a run out while waiting for my wife to make a quick call. I do not know what the tree is that provides this blossom but it is quite attractive. Plus another couple of images.

Dull and overcast today but a quick look in the garden shows that recent warm sunny weather has made some of the flowers bloom. Taken with the Pentax-A 35-105mm at F11.

The colors are great! And you are right, it's really hard to shoot with these long lenses. Does it have a tripod mount?

The 9.5 cookie focal length is impressive! And f5.6 is pretty fast for that length!

Since I got my Pentax M42 Adapter in I've decided to use my Sears 80-200 F4 for the first time in a while.

This lens is interesting. It's not a great performer by any means, but the Bokeh transitions with this lens are simply sublime. When shooting portraits this lens has a bit of a glow to it, very cool effect although technically incredibly imperfect. When used for macro (a surprising 1:1.15 to 1.65 macro mind you) it actually does pretty damn well. Here are some quick and dirty macro shots done at 80mm, which is not the closest it can do it:

Very limited PP on this (except for the last one). Just minor highlight and exposure adjustments. These are shot wide open at F4, with a flash and smaller aperture you could probably get good results out of this lens.

My version is the (seemingly uncommon) m42 version, but I'd spring for the much less of a pain in the ass K version if you want it. I ended up getting mine for 5 dollars though so it's hard to complain.

It's probably the f/5.6. Those big lenses (heck, lenses in general) usually tend to be soft wide open. I bet those shots at f/8 or so would look worlds different.

I agree; it was piss-poor light... I've got some time off coming up and intend to spend some of it with this lens....
