Some test shots with the M 75-150mm lens

Knowing there was a LOT of color at this little playground near my house, I figured it would be a good place to take some test shots with my new-to-me M 75-150mm lens I bought a couple of months ago. I was blown away, not only at it's sharpness, but at this little lens' ability to register so many different colors so vividly! Blue and red together? No problem! Add some yellow and green? No problem! And it can be had so cheaply!

Other than it's not an "A" lens and is NOT auto-focus, what's NOT to like?

Love the M75-150, Dewman! Here's a couple from it's little brother, the M35-70/2.8-3.5. I've been giving this lens a workout over the past month or so.

A closer view - the flecks of gold in the background are the last rays of the sun poking thru the woods...

That's most definitely sharp, my friend! I've never had the pleasure of using the M version of the 35-70mm, but I have the F version and it too is pretty sharp.

I must say thought, I've been spoiled after buying my FA-50mm f:2.8 and FA-100mm f:2.8 macro lenses. NOTHING I have in my inventory can match either of them for sharpness. Some will come close.... but, what is it they say about "horseshoes and hand grenades"? When I can literally count the hairs on a bee's neck, THAT is sharp!

I have one of those Sears lenses and I can confirm your findings. An amazingly sharp lens that can be had for peanuts! Have you ever tried the Sears 60-300mm lens? It will blow your socks off! I don't remember off hand who made them.... Cosina maybe?.... but they're a real piece of work. The build quality is like an anvil! A seriously overlooked lens, as is the Sears 28mm macro.

If only the F version were as fast as the M, it'd be in my bag more.

Thanks! The extra speed (f/2.8) came in handy on those shots, as it was pretty dark down there! To me the M is a better lens than my A35-70/4, but it doesn't do close focus, and the bokeh isn't quite as nice.

Here's the M35-70 again, an older shot from a drab February day, taken with a K100D:
