Bumping it up again with some more of said MC Sonnar 3.5/135mm. I wonder weather the DA 50-135 would beat it at 135 for resolution. As I only have the K100D I can't really tell - I ain't got the 50-135 either. I'd love to try a K20D with DA50-135 + FA77 for a week or two :-)

Some crop, some PP

No crop, no PP

Cropped too tight, some PP

Bump it some more,
Georg (the other)

Real good photo Alonsozjj!

I dig that Sonnar, shame I am a normal lens freak :-)

Here's another folly, a Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 4.5/40. It was at its time in 1953 a wideangle SLR lens, cause retrofocus was not yet really established.

CZJ Tessar 4.5/40 full open on K100D, yellow-green filter in PP (original is very yellow-green :-)

BTW if you have an old CZJ lens and want to know its birthday by the serial no. have a look here or here.

Keep 'em coming,
Georg (the standard lensnerd)

My one and only Zeiss lens is this bad boy. This going to be corrected as my collection is going to have to get bigger.
It's the Tessar 2.8 / 50. Made in DDR.

This is my first picture taken with my Ziess Tessar 50/2.8 and I love the color and sharpness of this lens. It's one of the easiest lens to get a sharp focus on with out a split screen. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/attachments/122-lens-clubs/34944d1242721576-zeiss-m42-club-imgp4836.jpg

Hey Dom, I have the same one!
Nice for getting close (i.e. 35cm) --can't believe it's only f/2.8.

And here's one from my Carl "Zebra" Zeiss Flektogon 20mm.

Great photos everyone!
Although I like more the 'infinity' images like girlinvt's great landscape shot I have finally given in to all of your suberb macro stuff.

Nail in a wooden fence, no PP, slight crop, from CZJ Tessar 4.5/40 on macro ring + K100D

Best, Georg (the other)

Greats!!

I have both.

Pancolar is the best normal lens for me (than planars, SMC, and everyone you want). It has the zeiss warm touch that haven't the oberkochen or kyocera planars.

The Zebra flektogon F/4 is "0" distortion. Very sharp at center at F/8-11 and in both center and borders at f/16. With the almost macro close focus. And Zeiss colors!!

Well I don't have a piccie to show for it but I just joined this club today - rather by accident. Picked up a f3.5 135mm CZ Jena for the princely sum of 4.99GBP (8 bucks or so?), it's one of the later editions with built in hoods (serial # 1031, seems very low?), totally perfect condition. Looks like it's going to be fun getting to know this boy =)

Whoa, Nass, you got a bargain there. One of those usually goes for about ten times that on eBay.co.uk. It is a great lens - it focuses closer than the 135 Takumars or the M135. In my opinion the images are better too from the CZJ.

Yeah I'm rather chuffed, I was tootling around with it inside last night and it's a lovely piece of work. I think maybe we're lucky in the UK because there are seem to be so many old Practika cameras with lenses like this knocking around. I remember my dad's old camera 40 years ago was a Practika too and had a Zeiss lens of some sort. I think I'll visit a few more flea markets and see if I can find some other stuff!

Not unloved, more likely not many of us here own one. For myself I hope to remedy that in the not too distant future.
