Now that you guys have more experience using the DFA 24-70 2.8 can you discuss what it gives you on APSC (besides FF when that arrives) that the DA* 16-50 does not? Thanks.

Good question. I've just returned a 16-50mm to the UK PR company after borrowing for a few weeks. I liked it, but I also fancy the 24-70mm!

Different focal lengths (24-70 versus 16-50), less vignetting and a little better edge sharpness at f2.8. Otherwise they are pretty similar. The 24-70 is probably a little more flare resistant than the 16-50 too, although neither one is particularly good in that department.

Hmmm, doesn't help !

I'm mainly looking a motorsport photography, so the extra reach of the 24-70mm maybe better suited for me.
