I really thought the 24-70 was considerably bigger than the 16-50!?!?
That seems to be incorrect... Great news!

Finally, the comparison shots I needed! Although the girth of the barrel is greater, the outer diameter of the hood looks about the same as that of the DA*16-50, so it should fit in my bags without needing to reconfigure them.

I want to see more images to convince me it's sharp enough - especially event portraits with bounced flash which is how I use my 16-50 quite a lot, but I'm seriously tempted....

edit: answered my own question by looking at the 150-450. It is the o-ring.

It's been a dark, dreary, rainy weekend, not very good light conditions so it was nice having a fast zoom. This is a good lens, sharp, good focus, a very solid build - it's a keeper !!

Driline shoots mainly telephoto lenses. If I had posted a photo with the DA *200, he would probably have been appreciative.
