I'll try to get some shots up to show bokeh. I'd say it is decent for a zoom but not on the level of the FA limiteds.
As to it replacing the 16-50, it wouldn't for me, as I shoot a lot of landscapes and it isn't wide enough on APS-C. My wife will probably use it a lot with her wedding photography, where it is perfect focal length for portraits and formal shots.
