Great pics, and they must feel even better with a free lens. I'd suggest increasing the exposure with snow though, as it tends to cause underexposure. I've found +1 to +1.3 EV is about right to make the snow white instead of grey.
Thanks for the tip, i'll try it next time i'm out with my camera.

M42 Samigon 35/3.5

Samigon 35/3.5

an m42 mount, nice little lens, it's biggest drawback is minimum focusing distance, @ 3 feet (90cm) but does produce a pleasant image. 8 blades and a "preset" type...

Widmer Bros. Brewery?! I literally work within smelling distance of the place. When the mash is cooking the whole neighborhood smells of warm, wet, grain.

It's the kind of smell you either like or not like, no in between...

I was thinking of throwing the Ozunon 35-70 that I bought with a Pentax film AF camera kit. I think it's a keeper. Time to take some photos with it!

I think it's a very nice lens and can produce good results. I have the PK-A mount, an A setting option, so metering is simple. The 2 photos are at 75mm with the second at close up near minimum focus distance. Quick PP of raw, I'm happy with results. It does suffer somewhat from flare, a hood will take care of this (the front element looks almost fisheye like).

Both @ ISO 1250

These on my Picasa which really tends to downgrade IQ

I do believe it is the same lens. I still haven't got it out. To busy with other things in life. I have never used the lens so I will have to fix that.

Sun Wide Zoom Macro 24-40mm F3.5. All shots stopped down to F8. Image quality is pretty decent for an old zoom so far as I can tell. The downside is that it's a huge chunk of cast iron and glass. At least it feels like cast iron.

Ricoh Riconar 55mm F2.2. Dirt cheap (10 euros attached to a broken Ricoh KR-5) and plasticky. But it does work well enough as a beater lens. The recessed front element makes a hood unnecessary making it even more compact.

Off-brand?

I'm not sure that Tokina qualifies as an off-brand. Looks like a capable lens though.

Depending on the Vintage Tokina definitely was an off brand. In fact when they started they didn't even make under the Tokina name. My Lentar 21 3.8 m42 was made by Tokina
Depends on the definition of Off Brand. Certainly if a Ricoh Riconar (used earlier) is an off brand then Tokina definitely is.
